We have just come off the phone with the vet. Ekanath is not well enough to come home yet but he is doing quite well. He has had a second chest drain and they have now removed a total of 300 ml of fluid pus from his chest. The operation on his chest to repair the bite wound has been done, during it they discovered the wound was far worse than it appeared from the outside and was a severe injury that was mostly internal and hard to spot. We can visit him tomorrow but he may not be ready to come home for a few more days yet. They have a chest drain in him and are administering intravenous painkillers and antibiotics. Once the culture comes back hey will know exactly what the infection is and can target it with more species specific anti-biotics.
