Cooper's Creek was a cold war listening station, decommissioned in the 1990's. Three should have been no one here to send the distress signal revived by the MacReady springs research station.
When the MacReady springs rescue mission disappeared the forest rangers were sent to find them. Officially they never did, but ranger Don Smith's memoir's tell a slightly different story.
